Default Just bought a 2010 XLT!

Hello all,
I recently picked up a very nice looking and very well maintained 2010 XLT (4.6L, 4x2, 4door, 120K miles). After driving a Honda Pilot for the last 10 years, it feels good to be in a truck again. But, I have some questions...
  • Is the ride supposed to be rough-ish? After driving a Pilot for so long, I think I might be expecting too much from a truck, but I thought I'd ask.
  • Is a slight ticking from the motor normal (barely perceptible, but there)?
  • She's a little sluggish off the line sometimes. Is this normal for this motor?
  • I read somewhere last night about the vehicle adapting to my driving conditions/habits, and maybe those need to be calibrated. Is this true, and if so, could someone point me towards a good resource for this?

Questions aside, I love this truck. Looking forward to having it for a few years, at least. And this site seems to be full of real enthusiasts, so I'll definitely come here often.
Thanks!

Welcome to the F-150 boards! Any fun performance mods planned for the truck?

Welcome to the site. The ticking is one of 2 things, injectors or manifold leak. IF it ticks faster with rpm's, most likely manifolds. If it remains the same, probably injectors and that is normal for these trucks. Also, yes, the 4.6 is sluggish.
