Default Intro

Hi,
I'm Steve, but I use the name Xoloski (show-lo-ski) on my forum discussions. My dogs are Xolo's. You'll have to look it up to understand. Yesterday I bought a 1987 F150 XL in Tucson. The truck has 115,000 actual miles. The body is mostly straight and has no rust. It has the Inline six and a C6 trans. I drove it 75 miles south with only a little vapor lock in 110 degree whether.

There some issues...I will need a new steering column and a headliner. I think the air pump is going bad because the belt squeals whenever I start the truck.

I'll clean it up, change fluids and fix any leaks. I'll put a rack on the bed and use it as my daily driver to haul building materials and such.

It'll be a good $700 truck.

Welcome Steve...it could just be your belt squealing...take a look at the underside of the belt and see if it has cracks in it...if so replace it with a good Poly cog belt...Gatorback is one of the best. another thing to look at is your idler pully and tensioner pully...both rather cheap and easy to replace.
