Default Hello from the city that smells like it sounds

Hello from sunny YQR. New F-150 owner. Bought a 2012 Platinum 3.5 eco the other day. ****ing love this truck so far.

Dropped in a K&N filter today.

What are the main upgrades I should be looking into to make mileage even better? I've heard of improving the cat-back exhaust (like the sound of the MBRP 4"....doesn't sound too douchy)....adding a tuner......intercooler upgrade....stuff like that.

Not made of money, but I'm not hungry either.

From a couple of different sources, I've put together the following list:

1. Air filter (people say a cold air intake doesn't make much of a difference.....but I'm a duramax guy, if there's a turbo, I say why not....I'll get to it eventually if I think it'll help).
2. PCV catch can (looking for this currently....not a ton of options up here in the great white north.....probably have to look down south and pay the extra money.
3. Exhaust - Currently sourcing an MBRP 4" (5" tip) setup. Better performance....doesn't sound as douchey.....like MBRP from my duramax days.
4. Intercooler - Why not.....replaced it in the dmax......I know I eventually should if I want better numbers.
5. Tuner - If you say "chip" I'll proably spit at you....but what's the best bang for the buck for an Eco?

This is my daily driver. I've sold the wife on the mileage, now I have to make it a reality. I know it's going to be better than a Hemi, but I'd like to make it a ****LOAD better. I do tow.....14 foot dump trailer.....so I do like the extra power. But I also do a lot of highway miles for scuba diving.

Welcome to the F-150 forum! Glad to have you join us.

Hit me up with a PM with questions about tuners (I'm a dealer for a few tuning companies, so we offer some special deals), but the SCT X4 is excellent for the Ecoboost engine, and very cost efficient.
