A tip for Mac users to quickly resize images, no image editor needed.
In this example, I want my images 2048 pixels wide. This keeps them around 1MB in size.
NOTE: Do this on a COPY of your image, it will overwrite your file!
1) Open up your Macintosh HD, and go to Applications => Utilities folder. Open up Terminal.
2) Type this command followed by a space. We will then drag our photo into the Terminal to populate the path for us:
sips -Z 2048
3) Now find the photo on your hard drive and drag the file's icon into the Terminal window and release. It should look something like this:
sips -Z 2048 /Users/screwd/Desktop/photo.JPG
4) Hit enter and the command will run. You'll see a line of output, but you can ignore it. Open your image and it is now resized!
ARGH, MY IMAGE IS UPSIDE DOWN!
For some reason my image when uploaded was upside down. Looked fine on my computer. This can happen because one of the tags photos store (called EXIF tags) handles rotation. Some applications recognize these, some don't.
To flip the image 180 degrees:
sips -r 180 /Users/screwd/Desktop/photo.JPG

Picture description
I actually use the attachment option and upload direct from my PC.
The question I have is how to add a description above each picture when trying to explain each photo in a multiple picture post.
Every time I load several pictures they all touch and there is no room for adding notes above them.
Plus they populate all over the screen vs being in a vertical line.
For posting how to instructions I want to organize them by each step with a photo and description.
Thanks
Danny
