Surfed the internet looking for a chat room to solve a problem I had with my 2004 F150 Lariat. Love my truck and trying to keep her running as long as I can and your site helped so I joined.

Just bought used F150, was looking on Pinterest at a diamond plate under rear seat storage post. I could not see pics without joining. Figured I’ll have questions or could read what others are doing with their trucks too.

Worked with OEM
After 15 years of working with auto dealers in the LA area the MFG started asking for my Service Department expertise. I said no because it was 2/3rds pay cut until I realized the benefits of corporate assistance was better the older we get !. So I jumped into American Honda in Torrance CA in the Customer Service arena.. My experience was in customer service and this is what AHM wanted to know. I helped them with what I was taught by my then Service Manager Eric Bolstad at Scott Robinson Honda in Torrance CA. This is important guys and gals....The customer's EVERY need is to met by the dealer. Tires, quick oil changes and all needs. Don't let the customer go elsewhere for anything. Turns out he was 100% right. Here's some of the stuff Eric changed;
AHM built into their radios a "code" that was meant to dissuade thieves from stealing a Honda radio. So when your battery went dead the radio asked for a "code". No customer ever remembered where the Sales person put it. The Tech had to remove the radio and see the special code on the back and access what the code is in the Honda computer is, then the radio worked fine. Big problem for customers because every Honda dealer wanted at least 1/2 hour of labor to obtain this code. Scott Robinson Honda under the SM Erric said NO CHARGE to obtain the code. This was huge with along the improvement of customer service by saying there is NO CHARGE of check engine lights in the early 90's !! Get the Shop Foreman on the Service Drive to check and clear the CEL, tell the customer what they saw and advise to drive and come back if the CEL came back on....HUGE for customer service !!!
Now much of this is normal... But SM Eric Bolstand was way before it's time, the surge of customer service showed to be return customers are the best.
Just some Service History for those who didn't know.
