Default Hi - Chevy guy here :)

Hi guys, I figured I would post up here to introduce myself since I just bought a 1988 F150 last Wednesday.

Needed a truck while I finish up my LS1/4L60E swapped 1994 GMC 1500 ext cab. I have fixed a couple things, but need more help with it.

Below is a run down of what I have done in the last 5 days on the Ford.

Paid $500 for this truck, cab corners are rusted inside the cab on the floor, not too bad though. I-6, 5 speed, 2wd.

Changed plug wires
Changed spark plugs (3 were loose, I was watching them move back and forth at idle, and all 6 looked like HELL)
Changed headlight switch (low beams werent working)
Fixed return fuel line that was returning to the front tank (which has a hole in it)
Installed head unit, fixed speaker wires that the previous owner had spliced behind the kick panel (thus making them not work at all), now I have tunes
Changed the transmission fluid tonight
Put NEW 215/70/15's on the wheels, took the old 31.5" swampers off (first set of brand new tires i have ever purchased, and I have owned 15 vehicles LOL)
Installed new rear view mirror, and spotter mirrors
Changed the coolant temp sensor (check engine light went off after I did so)

Next:

Figure out why the truck vibrates if you are moving at more than 40mph, and take it out of gear, if you put it back into gear, it goes away.

Figure out why my HVAC is only blowing against the windshield/defrost, doesnt seem to respond to moving the slider/controller

Figure out why the heat isnt very warm, and the a/c doesnt seem to engage the clutch

Figure out why the gas gauge, oil temp, and water temp gauges dont work

Attempt to determine the cause of the slop in the steering wheel (rag joint, steering box perhaps? Havent looked into it yet)

MAINLY: Figure out why I am only getting 10mpg!!!

I will be making threads in the appropriate forums regarding these problems, but feel free to throw out some ideas and I will let you know if I have tried them or not. Thanks!

Thanks guys, looking forward to it I foresee the F150 being a good truck when I get done with it. I just need to get a couple of those annoying things fixed first

Damn, the Ford broke down on me today. Drove 45 miles around town, got 1.5 miles from work and it just cut out. I popped the hood and there is power steering fluid sprayed around the engine bay, but none leaking on the ground. I checked the reservoir and it is still full? I think the coil and/or distributor got wet with the fluid and thats why it cut out. I sprayed it down with some brake clean and then got a ride to work. Any ideas? Im gonna try it again here in a bit, and check some fuses too.
