first post - intro and questions!
Hey all, as my title indicates I'm a n00b here on the boards but have been lurking for a bit. I don't drive an F150 currently (or even a truck for that matter) but am in the market (assuming I can figure out a way to fit a crew cab/short box in my garage) to pull the trigger in the next 6 months, hopefully.
I've been eyeing the 15+ platinums since their introduction a few years back but have consistently flip flopped between that and the Ram 1500 (laramie longhorn/limited). I'm hoping the 2019 Ram 1500 (with pano roof and 12" center stack) that's being released in the next few months is out of my price range otherwise I won't be able to make a decision.
Hopefully, I can find my ideal combination at the right price in the coming months: platinum supercrew 4x4 short box V8 (<-- negotiable, now - see below) in either black, white, silver or grey with brunello leather, pano roof, fx4 package and tech package.
I did have the pleasure of test driving a '15 platinum ecoboost the other day, though and was thoroughly impressed (as was my buddy who was with me). Unfortunately, it was a 6.5' box which I'm not looking for otherwise I probably would have bought it. Being a purist, I always envisioned the truck I bought having a throaty V8 - the ecoboost is clearly more readily available in the used market than the V8 but should I be concerned? Part of my affinity for V8's is their simplicity and in turn, reliability. Any reason not to expect the same reliability/simplicity out of the ecoboost?
Sorry for the long post but I appreciate everyone's opinions, suggestions and general feedback - thank you, in advance!

Welcome to the forum.
I'm a V8 guy to, and not having owned a truck without a V8 I can't speak from personal experience but from reading up on the forum I don't think you can go wrong with any of them, just find the truck that fits your needs and enjoy the heck out of it!!
