Cool Hello from South Texas

Hey y'all, my name is Rocky and I'm new to the forum. Still getting familiar with Ford trucks as I have owned a Silverado (that already came lifted) and a Ram (that I dropped) previously; before that it was Mustangs so I'm somewhat Ford-familiar. I recently purchased a 1997 2wd F150 project truck. 2 door, regular bed I believe it has a 5.4 but I need to get more familiar with the vin (so if anyone has a resource to find out that info it would be appreciated) It had a custom paint job black fade to grey but that's pretty shot and I replaced the low profile tires on the 10 wide rims with some offroad ones that would fit those same rims. I'll post some pics of what it looked like when i bought it and what it looks like currently as soon as I get a chance.

One problem I came across was the new, bigger tires rubbed the fenders in front when I turned so I want to do a lift. I will also probably repaint it and go with some sort of aftermarket set of bumpers to complete the rugged off road look. also need to replace the seats and some interior pieces. I have 2 small babies, so I'm trying to go with as much budget and DIY type options as possible, but I'm not against spending money on the really important stuff.

Any links or pics for inspiration would really help.

Thank you

Does a 2wd have torsion bars? If yes, you could look at cranking them up to get some lift. Might be enough to clear those. The offset on the wheels are killing your fitment though. The tires look pretty aired down as well, try inflating to the proper pressure (unless they already are) and see what the rubbing looks like. That's a lot of tire and a lot of offset for a stock height truck.

yeah the price I pay for going with a diff look. Originally it had some low profile tires, but they were shot and I didn't want to buy a whole new set of wheels and tires so I bought some AT tires to fit the existing wheels. its been sitting for a little while, but even when fully aired I get some rub when turning. I considered bangin out the wheel well a bit but I want to lift or level it anyway to get the clearance and height. my problem is finding a Spindle lift that will clear 15" wheels.

It mainly rubs on the rear of the wheel well when I turn, not so much the bumper area of the well.
