First Pickup Truck in 40 Years
Had to get a new car. Decided that I wanted an upscale sedan but that our family needed a pickup truck: so I got a luxurious pickup truck.
Looked at several brands & models and settled on a Ford F-150. Needed only two seats but wanted some indoor "trunk" space so got a SuperCab. Wanted the longest bed possible with a turning circle I could live with so got a 6.5' bed. Wanted to be able to do some moderate offroading so got a 4x4 with the Offroad package (3.73, locking rear axle, skid plates, etc.). Needed to be able to do some towing so got the towing package and the EcoBoost engine. Wanted comfort and convenience so got a Lariat with bucket seats, the flow-through console, power everything, backup camera, dual climate control, good audio system, box steps, running boards, etc. Needed to be able to haul rock and brush so got the drop-in bedliner. I live in the hot Southwest and will have to park outside in the sun, so got the tan interior and white exterior; but couldn't stand to put just plain white paint on such a nice vehicle so paid extra for the "White Platinum Tri-Coat" which looks nice.
My last pickup truck was a little, yellow, no-frills, manual transmission Datsun that I drove everywhere in my youth. This F150 is so far upscale of that it's off the chart. I'm enjoying it very much.
