Post First Ford Owner

Hello all,
Just purchased a used 2005 F150 5.4l FX4 SuperCrew.
The truck has 86,000 miles. I pretty much stole it; highly recommended the Suburban dealership in Garden City, MI.

See attached for picture.

Really excited to share experiences and future mods for the truck.
Previously owned a 2006 Grand Cherokee 3.7l 4x4 with 126,000 miles, 2'' linch, and 32'' tires. The old lady took that over.
Kray

NOTE: Does anyone know what brand these rims are? The truck is still at the dealership getting a nice clean.

Looks real clean for a 2005. Nice truck.

There were a few paint chips near corners and crevices.. but it seriously is pretty clean for a 2005. There is almost no sign of a "tick" or "knock" coming from the motor.

I guess on a 10 year old truck there will be some wear. That is part of what makes a truck a truck. Some of the trucks on this forum kill me. $50,000 plus and they never see a day of work. To each there own I guess. Has yours had the spark plugs changed?

After reviewing the service records, it is possible, but no clear description of the plugs being changed. It mentioned valve cover work around 40K miles while under warranty. They may have changed them then but i doubt it.

I would assume they were not changed if it does not say they were. That might be something you want to do soon. And check all the fluids and maybe change those also as needed. I was real happy I did when I bought my used F150. Front and rear differentials, transfer case, transmission fluid, coolant, oil(of course). Brake and steering fluids are next for me. Buying something a little used for a steal is the way to go IMHO. You can save so much cash and still have a great truck. Just be on top of the fluids/repairs because it is 10 y/o.

I can't bring myself to finance a brand new truck. I know repairs can be a PITA but if you do it right, its cheaper.
I want to wait a month or two before I start cracking into new fluids lol
Just recently finished all replacements and fluids on my (old lady's now) Grand Cherokee 3.7
