F-150 on 100% ethanol
Hi,
As an introduction, I have a yard full of Fords. My primary truck is an '02 F-250 XLT Lariat Crew Cab. It has 280,000 miles on the clock with 200,000 of those running on waste cooking oil, biodiesel or some blend thereof.
I bought an '85 F-350 DRW flatbed to use as my grease collection vehicle. Bought it with a welder on the back, sold the welder for as much as I had in the truck. Of course, that runs on grease as well.
I stumbled upon an '80 F-350 DRW flatbed that I bought for the bed and to give me a handful of spare tires & wheels. My plan was to scrap the rest but it has a really nice running 400W engine. I'd love to find a project for that engine.
Recently, I picked up a nice little '95 F-150 with the 300 six, 5-speed overdrive, longbed. It's a pure truck: no tilt, no cruise, no power windows, seats or locks. It does have an AC that works and a radio that works... some of the time. My plans for this truck is to see what it takes to modify it to run on 100% ethanol which I will make from cattails growing in the swamps.
Eventually, I'll put a gasifier in the back and modify it to run on woodgas. My plan was to run it a while and pull the engine. The 300 Ford will drive a 25kw generator head really nicely... running on woodgas.
My world is renewable energy and energy efficiency. I run my small business (industrial cleaning chemicals) completely on renewable energy. Anybody else with that mindset?

You don't really have to modify anything
I watched the people on the show "Colony" ran a old ford truck with a gasifier. They had to cool the wood gas from the gasifier down , before it was went into the carb.
Hot gas uses more space, cool gas is better for power. You should watch the "Colony". They also ran a generator with a gasifier.
