Building my 2018

Building my 2018
Hey everyone, I am going to build and order a 2018 F150. I'm coming from a 2007 tacoma so this will be my first full size truck and first ford!
Here are my needs for the truck: I have a Polaris 570 atv so that needs to fit in the bed with the tailgate up. I will probably buy a cheap camping trailer in the near future. I do A LOT of hunting and playing in the mountains of Idaho, so this truck will be no stranger to dirt roads. I plan to get a leveling kit to raise the truck, no higher than 3" in the front and 1" in the rear and hopefully fit 33" inch tires (285s). Don't usually carry more than one passenger.
Here is what I am thinking for my build:
2018 XLT supercab, 5.0L v8, 4x4, 6.5' bed, 10 speed
Packages/options:
Trailer tow, 302A, FX4, power equipment, sport appearance, 36 gallon tank, maybe a couple other little things like bedliner etc.
My main question is - is the FX4 package worth it for "off road"? Or should I ditch the fx4 and get 3.73 gears for my larger tires and more aggressive feel on the gas pedal? Fx4 requires 3.31 gears.
Also, I have always leaned towards the v8 but not sure if the 3.5 EB is the better choice. I like the sound and simplicity of the v8 but there are a lot of EB lovers out there.
Only other thing holdig me up is color, lol. Thinking silver or white.
Any feedback is appreciated! Thanks for reading!

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like the options you have should be a nice order and build. I have the 5.0 V8 and it has plenty of power for the mountains here in Idaho.

Sounds like a great build. I have a RCSB XLT 5.0 ordered that will be delivered in a week or two. I think you might check the online build tool again because I'm about 95% sure you can get 3.73 E-locker with a FX4, its only a $150 option with because the FX4 includes the 3.31 E-Locker.
In my case I did not go for the FX4 because I decided to go with Fox 2.5 DSC coilovers so it would have been pointless to pay extra for shocks I was going to remove anyway. The FX4 does also include the "Skid Plates" but they look pretty spindly to me so I chose to save the money and go for aftermarket skid plates at some point.
As for engine options the 2018 5.0 as been upgraded with direct and port injection plus the 10 speed and is hard to beat and $1000 less then the 3.5EB.

Huh I figured it would definitely fit. Have you tried raising the front of the wheeler up a bit? It fits in my dads gmc with a 6.5' bed as long as you raise the front up just to clear the edge of the bed.
