I removed the jumper yesterday and disabled this through FORScan. I didn't disable the switch or the message on the cluster, just the function.

Welcome to the F-150 forum! Glad to have you join us.

Have any fun performance modifications planned for the truck?

I don't trust Ford for fear of them voiding my warranty by using a jumper to disable the switch or using FORScan!

With that being said the auto start/stop feature is a totally useless and annoying feature!

If you get more informed, you won't live in fear. Ford cannot disallow a warranty claim unless they can prove your change caused the failure. You could easily undo the wire before a service, or revert the FORScan change if you were concerned at that time.

Or, get one of these:

After 3000 miles, I dislike the start/stop feature. I find myself turning it off immediately after turning the truck on.

I've decided that I don't like it. Period. I'm a bit over 5000 miles and I turn it off everytime I get in the truck. Note to Ford: Give us the option to turn it off all the time.

I like it for long stop lights, but otherwise it's off all the time.

I really don't understand how people can be so annoyed by a feature that is as easy to disable as pushing a button.

If you were to add up all the time you spent with jumpers and forscan trying to disable it (say half an hour), compared to the amount of actual time taken to press a button when you get in the truck (2 seconds), it seems like it takes more effort and time to do a workaround haha.

I guess if you're going in to modify some other things you may as well do it, but I like having the feature available to me if and when I decide I want to use it.

It would be nice if the button for it was on the steering wheel rather than the dash.
