Alaskan with F150 Lariat Question
HI, I live i Anchorage and have a piece of property 500 miles north near Manley Hot Springs, Alaska. I have a 18 ft. dual axle trailer that I pull with a Polaris Ranger XP on it. This truck runs beautifully. When I'm not pulling anything I get 19 - 18 miles a gallon on the highway. With the trailer loaded I get 11 - 12 miles per gallon. (A little less in town). I have 2 problems with the Truck however, It is a 2018 Lariat FX4 with the EcoBoost 3.5 engine. #1 - when the truck sits for 10 minutes or longer when I start it there's a distinct rattle from the engine compartment. It only lasts a couple seconds but it sounds terrible. When I've taken it to the dealer for routine maintenance or a recall I tell the maintenance scheduler and they say it's not unusual. Is this true? I read somewhere this might be the turbos rattling at start-up. #2 - when I hook-up my trailer and start driving I receive multiple warnings that the trailer is disconnected. But it is not and all lights, brakes and the turn signals are functioning properly. I always find dirt and sand inside the plug-in receptacle on the truck when hooking up. I wonder if I'm having a problem with the warning & alert system or is the receptacle which I clean and blowout with air every time I plug in the problem?
