Default 96 F150 rebuild

I've got a pinion bearing howling on my 96 eddie, I was looking to either rebuild or replace. I'm a decent wrencher but have not been brave enough to tackle a rearend rebuild. While looking for a coolant part I saw a 2016ish f250 with a rearend with disc brakes.
Question, will the 2016ish rear end fit in my 96 F150. I've got 8.8 diff with 3.55 gear drum brakes, 5.8L Windsor. I like the gearing (dont need to go fast but like pulling trailers) and would like the added benefit of rear disc brakes. Help.
