Hi, I new here and have just purchased my first Ford. It does have a manual but the manual does not include information on how to set the clock. Anyone that knows how to do this please let me know. Also the fan only blows on high only for the heat and A/C and the cruise control does not work. I bought the truck on eBay for $1K and the only thing wrong with it is some front end work which I fixed already for about $100. Bought new tires and it needs new shock which I will do next. Anyway, thought I would introduce myself and ask my first questions.:jester:

As for the fan and cruise control, check the fuses to see if they are blown. I believe the owner's manual has a diagram as to which fuses are for what.

it's got to be in there somewhere. in my 05 manual it's in the entertainment systems section.

Tanks a bunch but it refers to the "Sound System Supplement" book that I do not have. BTW I just degreased the engine and now there is a costant whine coming from the area of the alternator...any suggestions. I MUST drive this to work 30 each way for the week and need to figure the noise out or at least be comfortable knowing I am not doing any damage to the engine.

Sounds like alternator has a bad bearing. You can just replace the bearing but it is so much easier to just replace the whole thing. It seems when ever I would replace something in the innards of an I ended up getting a new one anyway.

I happen to have the radio you speak of and I actually just set the clock in mine. Turn the radio on, push the putton so that the clock is showing, use the tune button to adjust the hour by pushing to the left and the minutes by pushing to the right.

If you just degreased the engine and the noise started immediately after, I would think that maybe the fan belt(s) have gotten wet or perhaps the degreaser is still on them and that may be the cause of the sound. Wet/slick belts will slip in the pulleys and cause a high pitched noise. It just seems odd that the alternator would go bad just because you degreased the engine.;)

Thanks guys. Upon further inspection the belt is just slipping in the pulley without the pulley turning. It seems to get pretty hot (the belt that is). It is okay to drive this about 20 miles to have it looked at?? I have been riding my motorcycle but it is supposed to rain Thursday. How do I dry out the belt??
