Waterless car wash
 

Are those waterless cleaner sprays safe for your paints finish? I would think use of them might cause swirl marks or scratches.
If they are ok any perticular brand better than others

Personally I would never trust them but if I were to use one I'd try the new one that "Griot's Garage" has released.

Many claim they work great. It all depends upon how picky you are with your paint's finish. I would never trust them unless the vehicle was very clean - so clean that I wouldn't feel a need to "wash" it.

Otherwise I'd wash it first, so I'd be using water anyway!

Quality microfiber towels, and a good product go a long way. I use wolfgang uber when it's too cold to wash, and it works well.

Sounds like scratches and swirls waiting to happen to me.

For more years than I care to count, I have been riding motorcycles to bike weeks. Every morning, my buddy's are in the garage, yard, campground or where ever we happen to have landed the night before spraying and wiping in their bikes, usually with some magic elixir some dude hawked on them at a swap meet the day before. And everyone of them have a good looking bike from 10 feet away. Close up, though, the swirls are glaringly evident. We are all wearing reading glasses now, so I guess if they can't see the scratches they ain't there... Lol

It's not really waterless, it should be called pressureless.

From what I gather you're supposed to soak your MF and ring it out, then spray the cloth and run it over the paint as gentle as possible. It's more for dusting than it is actually washing.

I don't use it on the whole vehicle, I just use it to loosen up bug guts on the front of the truck before I go through the touchless.

I tried the ''Sanszo'' products yesterday on my brand new F150 after wasting 10 bucks on a touch-free gas station car wash that didn't clean properly.

I was skeptic, but it worked very well...

Just spray a generous amount of the product on the paint so it stays wet, then wipe the dirt off without applying any pressure with a microfiber clothe. Finally, take another clean clothe and wipe the rest.


Checked this morning under the sun : didn't leave any swirls or mark (perhaps that's because they put wax in their product - I will check in a few weeks to see how the clear is)

Meguair's wash and wax anywhere waterless spray is what I have been using since I bought my truck new (3 years). It works awesome, but you MUST use two high quality microfiber towels. One is used to wipe away dirt, the other for buffing that actually never gets dirty.

When I say high quality towels, I mean thick nap microfiber. The towels I use are about $15 for a pack of three. I only use them once and wash them afterward.

Follow the directions and you will not have any issues. I do not have any scratches on my truck at all.
