Chrome plastic wheel covers

Chrome plastic wheel covers
I have a 2015 that came with the plastic full wheel covers that are chrome. What is anyone using to get these back to the chrome look? I wash them regularly but they are still stained and have some places where the brake dust does not come off. Looks like a very thin chrome finish from the factory.

Assuming youre talking about a PVD rim. Not to be treated and cleaned the same as a chrome rim. V

Did you expect the wax to clean it off? Apply the wax once you've got it cleaned. It will act as a sealer/barrier against things like brake dust, you basically just sealed the brake dust in there. Brake dust is not an easy go, requires a lot of "elbow grease" to clean off.
Not sure which meguires cleaner you bought, but it should be a PH neutral cleaner to avoid damaging your rims. See video in link I posted earlier.
Something like this: Use soft materials like a microfiber towel, and get to work. Judging by your picture its going to take time, but will come off.
