Default Tree Sap on Fabric Seats

Does anyone have information on how to get tree sap off of the fabric seats? We went hiking and one of our group must have sat on some pine tree sap and there are a few small spots on the passenger side. I don't want to charge into cleaning this and potentially damage the fabric. Is there a product that can remove the sap and not damage the fabric or cause spotting afterwards?

You might try some hand sanitizer, the kind with alcohol. I have used this before after cutting up pine trees and getting a little sap on my seat and arm rest. It worked! The same stuff is a must for hiking, hunting/fishing as it is the best fire starter out there. The alcohol burns a hot blue flame and will get the tinder going quickly. Good luck!

Lighter fluid should work also. I use it on carpets and fabrics regularly but will always go with the "test in an inconspicuous area first" advice.

I wonder if Goo Gone can be used?
