Default New truck tomorrow, need help

New truck coming tomorrow, ecoboost crewcab, silver metallic. I'm trading my 10' blue flame crew and the dealer put some kind of sealant on the paint2 years ago and it still looks Fantastic. I dont want to have the dealer put on the sealant this time, but I want a good finish that protects the paint. I could take it to a detailer but would like to give it a shot. I'd like to do a good wax or sealant twice a year and touch up wax maybe monthly. I'm hearing so many different ideas. I just need a good product that I don't have to apply frequently that will protect and keep it looking good. Suggestions and application technique?

On a new finish there are MANY choices for sealants from Adams to Zaino (A to Z).

Do you have any idea what the $tealership applied to your vehicle years ago?

What color is your new vehicle?

after lurking everywhere, I went with Voodoo ride, Silq. I'm no detailer, and haven't waxed a vehicle this millenium. Seemed way easier to put on and take off than anything I remember. My dealer ship had put a paint protector that they called "Zurich" (like in Switzerland). I don't know if it was just me, but after 2 years off of doing nothing to the paint, it looked great!

Currently (to my knowledge) there are three basic options.

Wax, Sealant and Coatings.

WAX:
There are TONS of waxes on the market.
Wax looks good and feels slick.
Usually described as warmth and depth
Wax lasts about 3-6 weeks

SEALANT:
Lots and lots of sealants out there now.
Usually described as the anti-wax.
Sealant usually looks very bright & shiny.
Sealant lasts about 3-4 months.

COATINGS:
There are a few "new" coatings out there.
Some feel like a "squeaky clean plate".
Most don't have a nice finished look to them.
IMHO coatings can last up to a year or more.

Each product has a purpose and fills a specific need.

NOTE:
I have recently been trying a product that claims...
"Complete Paint Protection" and lasts up to five years.
I applied it to my Daily Driver about 3 months ago.
I've done NOTHING to it since except a rare wash.
It still looks good and really sheets, beads & repels.
IMHO it looks better now that when i first applied it.
