I had my 2010 Tuxedo Black Metallic Harley F150 done with the original version of Opti-Coat Pro that has to be applied by an authorized detailer. I'm quite happy with it for shine & durability.

I had Cquartz Finest applied to my wife's metallic black 435i in 2014. I'm happy with it also.

The Cquartz Finest is supposed to have a deeper shine but I can't see the difference. I think I prefer the Opti-Coat because it is a permanent coating that carries a 5 year warranty while the CQuartz Finest claims it lasts for about 2 years.

Advanced Water-repellent Glass Coating

The Modesta Flagship. Based on a three-dimensional molecular frame it forms a highly durable clear glass coat on the paint and produces an unique "candy-like" gloss. Other qualities include strong water-repelling effects, durability of up to 10 years and outstanding protection against all kinds of contamination and oxidation

Snake oil? Tell that to these guys. I happen to work at the shop that did my truck. Until you get to see the difference in a cars paint that just has a wax or nothing at all on the paint as it get washed it is night and day difference if the paint has Modesta on it.

So somebody put an overpriced wax on some expensive cars. Am I supposed to be impressed?

I have a pickup truck. I wash it once a week and wax it once a month with whatever is on hand. I try to keep it nice, but in the end it's a working truck, a tool to get the job done. Not something to spread snake oil on and stare at.

First world problems.

I don't think anyone was trying to impress you and I don't think anyone cares whether you are impressed or not.

if your system for maintaining what you have works for you then more power to you and no one should give you a hard time about it.

yes it is a first world problem.

All I need to know about how lost you are on this subject is you called it a WAX.
Someone asked for opinions on paint coating and he got some different choices from people who have used them.
Enjoy your work truck because I will sure enjoy mine.

Question

I think this thread needs a little more "science". For all the buzzwords "unique glass coating based on a three-dimensional molecular frame" basically means its a sealant (by the way, most sealants are based on a 3 dimensional molecular frame). While I dont think its "snake oil" Modesta does keeps its ingredients secret (which makes it a cause for concern). More so a concern is that a product is not available for anyone to utlize and scrutinize...you can mess up any paint job with any over the counter polish if you aren't careful. That makes me question them even more since you are having a company hide "secrets" for you. You are more than likely paying alot more for a traditional sealant than you are for a "secret formula". Just a hunch if I brought in a gallon of it for analysis.

I agree with the one poster on here who finishes with a Chemical guys sealant (more than likely V07) on its finish and ability to keep shine and protect a wax (its my preferred choice based on cost and quality) . If you're interested in learning more about molecular shape and how various formulas can impact your decision, I highly recommend (boring read for most folks):
https://www2.chemistry.msu.edu/facul...jml/intro3.htm

This will give you the basics on what you need to know.

I have been using a product called Rejex and does a nice job. Not as good as some of the higher end product's but it does make the paint very slippery so nothing sticks to it and has a great shine.

how long does Rejex stay slippery?
How long have you been using it?

Years ago polymer sealants were all the rage. This stuff was nothing but a nightmare for bodyshops trying to re-paint a car with this poly sealant on it. I have a feeling this new age stuff will actually be worse! It to is called a sealant. For those of you with this on your trucks, make sure you warn the bodyshop if you should find yourself in the unfortunate position to need bodywork done. Heck, some shops may flat out refuse to work on it. I would love to see and MSDS or SDS on this stuff.. I searched the site and could not find anything.
