Default Long story...short version...

I ran into a 4" PVC pipe that was sticking out of the ground...don't ask...

The pipe scraped down the passenger side of the truck, right along the bottom sill...because the PVC pipe was white, it left a white scrape. I have tried a fine rubbing compound, but it still won't come off. Any ideas on how to remove this white scrape from a black truck?

Try some Meguiars Scratch X on it if it's just a surface scratch.

For some reason I wasn't subscribed to the thread...and I promptly forgot about it...

I'll be buying some of this tomorrow and giving it a try this weekend.

Okay, picked up a bottle of Meguiars Scratch X, they are PROUD of that stuff! $12 for a fairly small bottle...but if it works...

After 30-45 minutes of increasing elbow grease (applying by hand), I managed to remove 95 percent of the scuffing from the PVC pipe. Paint looks pristine under the scuff marks. I'll pick up a pad for my power buffer and try to get the remaining scuff marks off later this week.

Thank you, WestTexas277!

Just realized that I hadn't posted a final result...

All white scrape marks are GONE. There is a barely noticeable dent where the pipe impacted the vehicle. Because of the curves already there, and the black paint, you have to know where to look to see anything.
