Black is a full time job, but when it's gleaming there is nothing better. I wash mine weekly at a minimum i clay it when needed it's parked out side 24/7 so maybe twice per year. I use Wolfgang finishing glaze which is a light polish after I clay, once it's up to speed it's Collinite 845 for protection. Use proper wash technic, good quality soap. I use detail spray after every wash, I use a electric leaf blower to dry, wipe and you are good to go.

Also to anybody else.

Once you wash and wax what is the procedure when it rains to keep rain spots off? Can you just pull into garage and dry with a microfiber towel or are you pretty much screwed and have to wash again?

Multiple coats of wax. Wax often. Then wax some more. Wash once in a while, then wax again.

Paint correction was done with blackfire src and Wolfgang uber compound. Personally I like blackfire products. My truck usually sees their crystal seal and black ice.

For water spots/light cleaning, just simply use a quick Detailer or spray wax and a plush microfiber. Takes 10 minutes or less and keeps the truck looking amazing. Pollen however, needs to be washed off. Even then, go to a standard wash, dry, then quick detail. I use a combination of a jelly blade and guzzler towels. It's always good to avoid water spots when you can.

California Car Duster for sure, I was skeptical as well, but I'll be damned if it doesn't work without scratching.

Like others have said, use it for dust only, watch out for bug guts, clumps of dirt or any water on the paint, those need a wash.

I'd also suggest not using the duster in direct sunlight on hot paint.

As far as what products to use, it's personal preference and depends on how much time and effort you want to put into it.

I'm a fan of Zaino, it's a little labour intensive , but worth it.

Last count, I've owned seven Fords, and they've all been black, just like Henry wanted it. lol

My California duster leaves lots of red lint and these little smear marks on my paint. Not sure what it is, but it's literally brand new and only ever been used on my clean truck. Guessing it might be excess oil or whatever they use in them. Either I still end up having to use a quick detailer.
