Literally just read through this entire thread (my wife thinks its a sickness!). I'm sold and all ordered up off ebay. I also am a Tux Black owner and was on the fence until the last shot. My only question, I'm planning on washing, clay bar, and pre-waxing. I use Meguiar's products for washing (Meguiar's Ultimate Wash & Wax or Gold Class) and clay bar (Meguiar's Smooth Surfaces Clay), but have never used a pre-wax. Any suggestions? I'm sure you guys do!

Thanks for this thread, I hope I am a true 845'er after my shipment comes in!

my trucks black, and i used pinnacle paint cleansing lotion goes on and off easy. Don't use the collinite paint cleaner though because that one isn't for clear coats.

The ENTIRE thread?.....glad I have company! it's nice to see a thread like this where virtually everyone has something positive to say about a particular product...845 IS that good.
I have never used a pre wax either. Clay barring, and bringing the surface to a clean, smooth start was good enough for me.
Let us know how your beautiful, multi colored metal flake black paint looks when you are done?

Typically when you clay you don't have to use a cleaner wax. Unless you're using a buffer and want to go the extra mile, I'd skip it.

Check out this Junkman2000 video for how to wash your baby properly (he's got other useful auto videos, too).

Then check this website....not so much for products, but for excellent info for those that must do it the way a detailer would. http://www.detailedimage.com/Auto-De...-Guide/Glazes/

I may be old school but i dont use any pre wax's.. When I plan on applying wax I wash my truck with dish soap (its supposed to remove the old layer of wax)and rain x bug and tar remover. Then I dry and apply. I found the best curing time is around 20 minutes on a cool finish.

I do not use a precleaner also but I love Meguiar's Ultimate Wash & Wax it smells ok and really cleans well and the best feature is after washing there are little to no water spots. Water spots is the reason I was having to wax every time I wash. Now I can wash and use a quick detailer or just dry and still have a fresh just waxed look. I will probably buy the Collinite 845 , but I do love the Meguiars NXT wax, I found that it works best on a hot surface which is important for me. I have had my truck for exactly one year now and when I wash and wax I still have that new truck feeling and get compliments.

My NXT is languishing on the shelf since I discovered 845......I was a fan of it too. Wait till you try 845, and let us know how you like it?
