Sorry to hear about your misfortune...Sadly, you may not have needed new windows before but you do now!

IMHO here is what went wrong.

FIRST:
When cleaning glass with a razor blade there is a special technique.

Spray the glass with your lubricate/cleaner then with a NEW blade held at a 45 degree angle scrape in only one direction from your starting point then LIFT the blade and place it back at the starting point and repeat. Male sure it stays wet in front of the blade and DO NOT scrape back and forth you will scratch the glass. Razor blades are cheap compared to a window. Use 2-3 on each window to make sure the blades stay fresh, sharp, clean and ding free.

This one the their fault.

SECOND:
Never leave your vehicle alone with a minimum wage $tealership moron with permission to attack your vehicle with a sharp object.

This one is your fault.

Anyway...you're getting new windows...There is nothing as good as the factory install and $tealerships are very cheap when it come to subbin' out their work.
Now they will need to go in there and tear apart your doors and seals. Cross your fingers and hope it doesn't leak. They may not leak right away but time will tell.

Just a FYI Take pictures of your paint (not the glass). Close ups if you can, on all the areas where the glass is going to be replaced (doors etc.)
Just to make sure the paint is not scratched up from the work being done by the the cheapest auto-body/auto-glass shop place they can find.

As a matter of fact...take pictures of everything...interior doors etc. Wait wait don't tell me...the same moron with the razor blade does their auto-glass.

Let us know how it works out for you.

Luckily the guys that will be replacing my glass are top notch. Ive been using them for7 years now. Theyve done my boat my armada and rock chip work in other vehicles ive owned.

Right now the dealership is yappin with ford. The dealer is trying to get the glass replaced under warranty. I had to explain that the warranty covers manufacturer defects not some jackass with a razorblade.

This just sucks any way you look at it. Good luck with the new glass, sounds like you are confident with the installer. If you should ever find you can not remove water spots again try CLR (Calcium, lime and rust remover) on a damp cloth. It works great, just be careful not to slop it onto your paint and rinse well when done.
