Ceramic Coating newbie

If it isn't working, then it wasn't applied properly. So far it has been a month and a half, 2 washings, beads like crazy with a layer of dirt on it, and no scratches. I have yet done a full mitt wash, just touchless and a wipe down. I also have waterless wash that includes Reload to keep the protection fresh. No different than spraying and wiping with Meguiars detailer spray, or any other detail spray for that matter. Even under the dirt I can feel the slickness of the paint.

I have a ceramic coating on my 14 Durango. Had it applied shortly after purchase. It is performing as new yet after 4 years. I have never waxed it, yet it always looks freshly waxed. I have it on the entire exterior, body, windows and wheels. It stays cleaner, dust actually blows off when driving. That doesnt happen with waxed vehicles because of static electricity. Dirt, salt, road grime washes off much much easier.
I mostly use touchfree tunnel washes and have no scratches, micro scratches, spiders, or whatever you want to call it. I still have the original windshield wipers on it (it is garage kept) and they perform good still.
I paid alot, had it professionally installed, and at the time it was warrantied for life. Now I think its 7 years. But either way, I am very happy with it.
I have not had it applied to my 18 F150, because I already scratched it all up hunting. Though, a professional paint correction and it would be fine for getting coating.
The coating is much harder than the factory clear coat, but it is not "unscratchable". Water rolls right off.
There are a few high end coatings on the market that are very good.

for wheels I use the Carpro hyrdrolite
wash wheels
leave wet
spray hydrolite
varying opinions on how long to let it sit/bond
i let mine sit for approx 5 seconds
then spray off with water
no rubbing or scrubbing

I got about 18 months out of optimum gloss coat and that is with proper hand washing and using McKee’s hydro blue maybe every third wash. I redid it again using the gloss coat this time I applied two coats there is a lot of hype when it comes to coatings I am still a big fan of 845 and FK1000p one big reason is price the key is preparing for the coating and maintenance. In my opinion I would not spend $ 1200 and up to have someone at a shop do it, just not worth the cost unless your loaded. That being said do your homework there are many good products available just don’t think they are bulletproof.

I'm looking for advice from others that have done this before. I am looking at coating my truck over my holiday break at the end of the month. I'm looking at the CarPro CQuartz UK 3.0 kit on amazon, it comes in 50ml. Is that kit enough to do a supercrew short bed? Or should I plan on buying more? I'd hate to get half way done and have to re-order and then re prep the unfinished portion of the truck. Thanks.

Watch some videos to get an idea of how to apply it, and follow them to the letter, don't let it sit too long before wiping and buffing or you will get high spots, and don't do it in sunlight. Take your time, watch the videos, it's not that difficult, the hardest part about applying it is learning the flash time for your environment. As long as the paint is properly prepped, you will have an amazing finish when done.
