I bought a het gun at Harbor Freight for $12.99 and the Stoners Trim Shine at Auto Zone. Used the heat gun on all the trim and it really brought it back to life. Finished up with the Trim shine and it looks awesome.

Don't waste money on

Wipe New (http://www.ripoffreport.com/directory/wipe-new.aspx)
Mothers back to black
303 Protectant
Armor all products
I tried all these and they are short term solutions, Only refinish restorer and TC Fusion lasts longer. Although TC Fusion is more expensive than RR.
I have also seen guys apply Pledge future floor wax applied to the plastic trim, but thats for folks living in Southern states with warm weather.

TC Fusion link

I've used many "Black Restore" trim products mentioned & wound up throwing them in the trash.
Some worse than others. It's sickening when it rains & you watch the "black" run down the sides.

There was a product (a while back) that I liked. It had a black dye & dried hard to the touch.
I can no longer find it and I've been looking for the new "holy-grail" for trim restore ever since.

I've tried a couple of newer products recently and have had good results. Better than most.

I haven't tried Cquartz Dlux yet. I have had excellent results with all the other CarPro Products.

Does it have a black dye in it?

im not sure what the active ingredients are, but i dont think they are dye.

here is the manufacturer's description...

A slight different formula from original Cquartz, Contains more than 50% pure silica!, Silane-based glass coating quality as a main component, organosilane. DLUX protect the coated material to form a heavy glass on top of the substrate.
Restore the shine of rubber ,bumper resin and faded plastic. DLUX texture finish smooth and new.
Very easy to apply with great UV proof protection, on plastic and wheels.
DLUX has semi permanent chemical bonding to surface pores, We use different nano composition to bond hard to plastic surface and achieve thick layer coat .
On car wheels, DLUX will repel dirt and dust with very easy to clean brake dust.
DLUX will protect from water spots as well , these will be easy to remove .
Gloss effect and hydrophobic will last up to 1 year.

Sounds a lot like wax for the paint. But have you tried it on rims? Mine get brake dust really bad and its annoying. If this would help I'd buy it for that alone. Haha. Plus I need something for the trim pieces
