Bakflip FiberMax Issues

Anyone have issues with fiberglass panels oxidizing heavily in textured finish? Turns white in bottom of grooves of the textured finish. Cover is 15 months old, looks like crap.

I have had my fibermax just under two years. No issues.

Have any pictures? Almost sounds like hard water staining to me, particularly if it's only occurring in the low spots where water would collect.

Have to take a couple pix and post them. Can't believe it is this bad in 15-16 months.

Ever figure this out?

Looks like someone sealed/waxed it.

What have you used to try and clean it?

Never used any wax or type of sealer, just washed it. After these pix I tried Back to Black, did nothing. Tried Meguiars fiberglass restoration kit, very little improvement. In the crevices where it is whitish color, if you look with a magnifying glass it looks to be cracking. Bak industries says it is normal oxidation. They told me to use Meguiars stuff.

I bought mine used for dirt cheap and the previous owner didn't take any care for it. It got so bad that the fibers started fraying up. I tried everything I read on the internet and nothing worked. I gave up on mine and went last resort. I brushed/rolled it with some oil-based enamel semi-gloss. It's been about 6 months and it looks great still! I predominantly was wanting to protect the fibers that were starting to lift and it did exactly that.

As an unfortunate side affect, the clean finish of the panels now accentuates the streakiness of the black rubber.
