Default 2005 Corvette - A Miracle Detailing - CQuartz Professional

The client just purchased this car with just over 10k on the ODO.
It was covered in swirls marks!!! It looked like it was attacked by Spiderman.

It had VERY hard paint! I tried many different combinations of products and pads.
Due to the nature of the beast, it went inch by inch slow and took a lot of time.
Normal pads/products did not even make a dent. Warning: Do not try this at home.

The winning combo...
Correction: Rupes 21 - M101/M105 combined on LC Purple Thin Foamed Wool Pads
Polishing: Rupes 15 - Rupes 5" Yellow Polishing Foam Pads with Meguiars M210

Dlux on Trim / Fly-By-Forte on glass / Paint coated with CQuartz Professional
Convertible Top / RaggTopp Fabric Convertible Top Cleaner & Aerosol Protectant

Before and After -
Rupes 21 w/5" backing plate / Meguiars M101/M105 combo w/LC 5.5" Thin Purple wool Pad

Thank you! That is very kind.
I think it turned out "better than showroom new" for a 2005 C6.
Did you check out the video in 1080p? It shows the before/after a little better.

What is the difference between the CQ Pro and the CQ UK 3.0? I applied the 3.0 to my truck last September and it is looking great after a salty winter with nothing more than a clay and wipe down with Reload.

CQ UK 3.0 is a great consumer product. Easy to apply/remove, very glossy and hydrophobic.
Cquartz Professional and CQuartz Finest Reserve are certified installer only products.
Each one "Kicks it up" above the other with CQuartz Finest Reserve being IMHO the best on the planet.

Personally, I would not use a clay bar on top of a coating as it may damage/degrade the coating.
On a coated vehicle I'd only use IronX (as chemical decon) rather than clay (mechanical decon).

In all these cases, protection performance is much better with a ceramic coating over traditional wax.

Nothing was touching the tar that was sprayed all down the sides. I used Meguiars detail spray as a lube and Zaino clay, and it came out great. A wipe down with Reload and it looked as good as the day it was done. Of course, stayed clean one day only, rained every day since.

I also topped it with two coats of GLISS, so there are 4 coats on the truck initially.

You had TAR down the sides?

Yep, a fine coating of little brown bumps. My red claybar turned brown after cleaning the truck. There was a new road put in that I drive every day, so the oil from the asphalt got kicked up all down the sides. I washed it the other day and it is beading and sheeting again like it should.
