I'm concerned about mods that can't follow rules. Why can a vendor post in the personal ads with external links, no clear price, or photo of their user name with the object they wish to see but forum members can't? This crap of them spamming the personals every sale is stupid and makes the vendor section redundant.

Per the Vendor rules which you can review here: https://www.f150forum.com/f37/update...uctions-15691/ posts by PAID VENDORS are allowed though limited in the classified sections. If you suspect a violation of these rules by a vendor you can use the report function although the classified section as well as our vendors are very well moderated here. Also dont forget, these vendors are whats helping support this forum financially, its not cheap to be a vendor here so they have a little more leeway than a regular member when it comes to advertising their products.

I agree with the op about it making the vendor section redundant. What's the point? The personal 4 sale section should be just that. For people without deep pockets to sell/trade personal items they have.

As an addendum to what Kozal said- while these vendors are allowed a little more leeway about posting their products and sales items in places a normal member can not, while you may hate it and wish it were different, be reminded that vendors are also held to a much firmer standard with every post they make, where they make it, and the content it contains. Another thing to consider- vendors pay money to be able to sell stuff here. Some participate in general discussion but for the most part, they have one mission- financial gain. That main mission is only executable to its fullest extent in the vendor showcase. Anywhere else is off limits except the classifieds, and even that is very limited. Can you, as a general member, imagine me setting a rule that you’re only allowed to make a finite amount posts in certain sections at certain times and then you were essentially cut off?

If my staff and I held all general members to the standards of post placement, content, and frequency that vendors are limited to, I’d lose half of my member base to bans and this would become a very boring skeleton of what it once was and nobody would enjoy it. Conversely, If I allowed vendors to post the in same manner as general members, this site would essentially be Amazon or eBay with a conversation or two sprinkled in.

There is a give/take involved with this that some may not realize.

That said, like Patrick said, if you see something that doesn’t conform to rules, report it and we will handle it. They’re only allowed two posts per month in the general classifieds.
