Much agreed! Plus sometimes searches yield old info. Plus its funner to talk about this stuff with each other.

If the information is there for you to easily get yourself, why do you think other people should have to constantly get it for you? (Using the term "you" to indicate anyone who doesn't search.) Some of the same topics on here have literally been posted 50-100s times already. Redundancy is not what makes a forum worthwhile. People would still post, regardless of whether they searched. But if they searched, their posts would be more worthwhile.

You've apparently been here 2 months. Get back to me in 2 years to see if 1. you're even still on here or 2. if you've been driven crazy with the repetitive posts. It's one of the main reasons I've started disappearing from this forum for weeks or months at a time.

And just in case you want to get on to me about this post, be aware that I've helped many people on this forum doing all the work for them in searching and whatever else on many occasions. I'm not heartless. I just believe people should use their brains. (I know, what a crazy thought that is!)
Big +1 on this, I've been much less active on here as of late because of the way the community has shifted. There's still plenty of good on here, and plenty of new members that are really contributing well, but it's getting old weeding through all the unnecessary bull*****. Although, sometimes it is entertaining watching other new members, unaware that its a flagrant repost, feed the OP of that thread and work their way to a conclusion that could've been found in literally seconds.

Friend, if you're sick of people jumping you for reposts, then you might as well give up on Internet communities all together, it's the same everywhere.

-also I'm not super tech-savvy, but I believe there's a way to circumvent the forum's search function through google. I think in the google search bar if you put f150forum.com/f38: [whatever it is you're searching] -it will do the same as the forum search tool. I'm not positive, but I think it works something like that.

This topic has been discussed several times already. You should have searched first.

Back in 2003 a friend of mine started a snowmobile forum called firecatinfo that I have been a moderator on up until a couple years ago when he sold it. It has since grown into one of the best snowmobile forums out there. Hardcoresledder.com. We found over the years that while the search can be a great tool it doesn't always mean it the best option.

Having new posts bring the topic front and center for new/updated info. Sometimes people will benefit from the post because the topic comes up again and it was something that most people didn't think to search for.

I can't tell you how many times I see new stuff that I didn't think to ask or know it might be a problem or even cool features and the second post says use search.

Google... That's helped me out plenty of times... That "search first" crap has gotten.. This site does not provide accurate search results as many other F150 sites do...

like it or not, people like asking questions, people like giving opinions, and people like to bitch about the first two.

i bet if i had searched, i would have found a post just like this telling people to quit bitching about posting redundant questions.
Agree 100%
