Apparently a very exclusive club it is with apparently only 2 known members.
Same here, this and another very similar formatted F150 forum are the only forums i have problems with..
Yeah i signed up for the other forum recently because of this issue. But no dice, same ol same ol 'pagination'-'got it' crapola.
I'm wondering now if these two forums have some kind of canned Ford software.
Why those goofy 'pagination' 'got it' prompts even exist at all is beyond me.

SnowHater, welcome to the 'pagination'-'got it' club. I'd be curious if you find a solution. Please post here if so.

I thought so as the other forum format is the spitt'n format image of this one.
Its the 'Ford truck enthusiasts Forum'
By the way FWIW i also always log off with every forum including this one.
In addition if i forget to log off the forum it automatically logs off when i leave it as is every other forum i'm on.
The other thing i noticed is that my browser is not storing this forum's cookies.
Do you all use cookies to determine if those $#%^ prompts are displayed?
Reason i'm asking is that i'd think those prompts are only meant for a newbie's first few thread views.

We used to track these via cookies, but we switched to database-side tracking recently so that once you see it on your account, our database can remember that the account you're logged into saw the prompt and it should stop firing.
Also, just for my curiosity's sake--what's the reasoning behind logging out after each session? It's one of my least favorite things, having to log-in to stuff. We have it specifically set up now that logged in users are remembered as logged-in, unless you explicitly log out, which you two (and probably many others) seem to be doing.

What he said^ Hell, I'm logged in all the time on 2-3 different operating systems and at least 4 different browsers. Time is $$ and the more I save of both the better.

I'd say something might be going on with your database.
Maybe a flag is still stuck set somewhere indicating that i'm a newbie needing those @#$% prompts?
Don't know if this relates but whenever i started a thread, the thread title was always in un-bold text unlike the vast majority of thread titles here which are in bold text..
If i leave this forum like all other forums i get automatically logged off. Will double check that though.
I always log off after leaving any and all forums, email, online banking, etc. and never had a problem.
Why? For primarily virus security reasons plus I don't see any reason to stay logged in to a forum unless some can't type or is too lazy to type in their login data..
These hackers are getting smarter every day.
I power off my PC when i finish my browsing sessions also for security reasons and I had a high wattage power supply spec'd in for my gaming PC.
But more importantly, before powering off my PC i also disable my ethernet adapter card so there's less of a chance of some nar-do-well hacker doing what they do.
Remember i'm still running XP so i take all virus infection precautions as insignificant as they might seem.
Edit:
Ok IB Jose,
i left this forum while still logged in then went to other websites.
When i returned to this forum, i was still logged in.
However if i close my browser, i'm no longer logged in.
Seems normal to me.

Nothing in our current iteration is designed to force log-out because of a browser closure, as again, we don't track via cookies, it's done through the database. I honestly think there's nothing I can do to help you now, not when you're running Windows XP.

because it's not a new thread, for you--since you created it.
Ah ok that makes sense Jose.
maybe it's time to get a new machine
NOPE not until i have goofy problems like this one with non-Ford type forums and other websites.

You did say this forum doesn't use cookies.
So you're saying if i stay logged in then close my browser then reopen my browser i should be still logged in?
What about if the internet connection is terminated? Still logged in?
Looks like SnowHater who is having the same issue running Win 10 is AWOL.
Sure would like to know what your resolution would be for SnowHater as it would probably apply to me.
