I'm being mail bombed
20 emails in the last minute. This happened a week or so ago. Anyone know what the hell is causing this?

Is it a notification for the same thread over and over or for many different threads?

It was many different threads. Stopped shortly, about 25 emails.

I know when we saw this before members unsub'd to the thread that was bombing them and it seemed to go away. Others got bombed and then as far as I know it didnt happen again. Hopefully it's done for you and somebody can figure out what is triggering this.

Sometimes software updates to the forum undo members notification settings. Check to make sure that all of your settings are changed to where you like them as far as notifications go.
