If someone got banned for that, it would be very disappointing. Please tell me the Mods aren't running the show like that.

I wouldn't be surprised.

Not getting this at all. ACLU? This is a private forum where you have no "right" to post what you want. IB sets the rules. If they determine you violate them, that's that.

The public can view this forum without joining or signing up, therefore its public. If IB wants to ban people for petty posts, I wonder how long their websites will survive with no members? I have seen it before.

Basically, they have silenced one vendor (a very helpful one at that), just to keep another vendor happy.

The sad thing is, what the vendor said is truth, otherwise it wouldn't be common knowledge about those products. So effectively you can't tell the truth about things in this country anymore because you might "offend" somebody else.

We're headed to hell in a hand basket.

Your understanding of public vs. private is not correct. The public library is public. This website is private.

As to IB and losing people, I'm not defending their actions, merely stating that it is their right. They have lots of sites, this one is one of the most carefully moderated.

One thing you should keep in mind. When one complains about something, they have to have "standing". In other words, they need to be the one harmed. You are not the vendor that was banned, so you should not be making the complaint (again, an invalid one to the ACLU), because you have not been harmed. Saying that you want to see the vendor's postings would not be harm.

I have no idea who the vendor is, who they called cheap and Chinese, etc.

Even though the public can view it it is still a private forum and they can, no matter how unfortunate one sees it, ban someone that doesn't follow their rules, even if the rule is lopsided.
And without them being able to justify their side that does suck. I find this to be the most informative of the four F-150 sites I'm a member of and would hate to see it fall apart.
