I think some of the old farts need to get over this stuff.
No one has any issue with discussions about racing at the race track, its the street racing discussions that are the issue here and they are not allowed on this forum.

I gotcha. From the few things I have read, people on the ford truck sites for the most part are against racing a truck anywhere. What they dont understand is that with the normal weight reduction, you are really close to what the new sports cars weigh anyway (aside from the corvette, or gutted cars). The trucks are just as capable as cars at high speeds with the right equipment (doesn't matter if it is on the street or at the track for this), just like a car has to have the right equipment.

There's a lot of good info on that site, just not a lot of anything but Chevrolet performance. Ford has given us an awesome platform with the new 5.0's. There is a lot of potential even for the trucks.

As stated, the issue is street racing.

The deleted posts were stoplight to stoplight ***** waving competitions, and had nothing to do with anything on a track.

The difference between strip times and stoplight to stoplight is that on a properly run strip you're only endangering yourself.

That is untrue. Even when you just go to spectate, you sign a waiver that pretty much says enter at your own risk.

Okay, if we're going to split f~ing hairs.........

Everyone at the race track KNOWS they're at a race track, and knows WHY they're at the race track and knows the RISK with being at the race track, or is in the company of someone (such as a parent) who, being of legal ,majority, should know said risks and be well enough aware of them to make a mature decision to be present at such a place.

If two idiots want to announce that they're idiots to everyone and drag race on the street, the only people who have agreed to be there are the idiots behind the wheel(s), leaving the rest of the unwitting spectators in possible danger with no knowledge of the risks they are undertaking by walking down their sidewalk or commuting to work (or engaging in other legal activities to numerous to be listed in the space allowed in the thread).

yeah but everyone there is a willing participant if they are spectating or participating in a drag race at a legal sanctioned race track. Illegal street racing endangers innocent none willing participants and general public that use the roadways. (me, my family, my pregnant wife ect) do you see the difference?

Idiots on the road exist without drag racing. Anytime you hop in a vehicle, plane, train, etc... Be ready for anything to happen. People run stop signs, people speed without drag racing, people fall asleep at the wheel, people do stupid things all of the time. While technology is a great thing and can be a comfort, it can also be pain, suffering, and death.
