Default Is yours tearing in places too ?

The pic's below are just to the left of my 2014 F-150XLT's radiator.

This is almost like roof felting paper, but it has torn in 4-5 different places, at no fault to my own. I've used "Gorilla tape" to fix the rips, but I wanted to ask a few questions:

  1. Is this just going to get worse?
  2. My 36Kmile warranty is 650 miles from hitting, should I see if Ford will/should replace these? I have no clue why they ever tore.

Both sides have torn and I've used the G-Tape to fix all of them. Where I have used the g-tape previously, I am having to replace the older tape w new in 2 places.

Thank you,
tstex

Mine are much worse ('14 27K miles) just wrong choice of material. Next spring I will use old one as template. I may use same material as I used for front wheel well covers.
I think it gets buffeted by the air passing thru.

What's the purpose this material is serving? Is it to allegedly protect the parts behind the material from bugs/other?

And yes, it's junk material...a cloth like material w porosity to allow airflow yet stop solids should have been installed

More than likely the purpose is to direct air.
Will it make a difference? Probably not much of one.
Would I have Ford replace it? Nope. I'd find some thin rubber and cut it to fit id
