#6 coil

#6 coil
I have a 2006 F-150, 4WD, V8. The truck was misfiring, and would not pass inspection d/t check engine light. Diagnostic check by the mechanic found that the #6 coil was not working, and replaced the coil. Still not working, and tested the new coil using the #7 connection and it fired a spark plug normally, but not with #6 connector. He replaced the connector to #6 coil by splicing in a new one. Still no fire, same error code.
I would like to test the continuity of the wires to #6, but need a pin diagram for the PCM. I sure do not want to have a new PCM recommended if it is a faulty wire. Any sites for a PIN diagram or other ideas on how to proceed?
Thanks

A bad spark plug will cause the coil to fail. Have you pulled the plug? I found one had a leak around mine, (mech didn't properly torque the new plug), burning off the side and electrode. When I had a misfire, the mechanic just replaced the coil, not replacing the root cause.

I did replace the plug. As is turned out, all of the plugs needed changed. I had a coil "go bad" a year ago, and the coil was replaced. Agree that it may be a good idea to replace plug anytime that a coil problem is suspected.
Still need to find out if a wire between PCM and coil is the issue, or is the PCM. If PCM, I could consider a used one if I can find one.
Thanks
