Opinionated Blowhard
He has a seriously large mangina. Whole Foods? ***** can't back his truck. And his "off road rock crawling" is a ranch driveway in Montana. I can't believe he actually posted this. It isn't even good for laughs since, as Bevis said, "You're such a dumb ***."

I just had to see the ENTIRE video and read all the posts to find out why so many of you guys are slamming this guy. It is very obvious that there were many who could not bear watching the entire video. That's your fault and ultimately your loss. Well, if everyone watched the ENTIRE video, they would have realized the guy was actually doing a "tongue-in-cheek" type review. For those who do not understand "tongue-in-cheek", I guess there's not much anyone can help you with. Here is what he said on the last 60 seconds:
" Yeah, the Raptor is not a practical truck, but you know what? the less practical something is, the more FUN it is. So on the TFL.com scale of "Buy it", "Lease it", "Rent it", or "Forget it", even after all I have done with this truck, I still give it a BIG BUY IT, because there's nothing more fun than flying down the road via tarmac or via dirt than on a Ford Raptor. "
What do you guys find so offensive about his final recommendation? Sounds like a total and fully commited endorsement of the truck, put into proper context of manufacturer's intended use (i.e. it ain't your momma's grocery shopping truck, but it is just sooo nice you may not want to go too rough on it with extreme rock-climbing). Some of us get the juxtaposition of the scene of a truck traversing a flat fire-road with small rock-pebbles being described as rock-climbing, being a clever take of the "tongue-in-cheek" methodology.
C'mon guys, lighten up! For the few who got the joke, great job at watching the entire video.

Calling the guy a "jackass", "dumb", or calling his kid a "tard" hardly qualifies as "tongue-in-cheek review of his video". Seems pretty cruel to me. So this is what one gets for whole-heartedly endorsing a truck that we all love to use ? I'd hate to see what response he gets if he did not endorse the truck!
And one last thing, this guy you are bashing from TFLcars.com is part of a group of reviewers who actually listed the Ford Raptor as one of it's 2010 Winners of Fun to Drive Vehicles alongside the Land Rover LR4 and Lamborghini Gallardo amongst many other high-end cars. So, I guess this guy deserves all the cruel comments for putting this truck in such high praise? Read the reviews yourselves and stop slamming this guy!

And besides, regardless of his comedic intent and ability, the things he was saying were discourteous to say the least, to the engineers who designed this truck, the builders and the people who chose to buy it. It doesn't matter if it was supposed to be funny or if he in the end endorsed the product, he tried to make it look like a useless pile in the interim. I don't know about you, but when people attack me, funny or otherwise, I tend to get defensive, thus the reaction you've seen here.

Secondly, it is hard for me to see how he was attacking me/us or the trucks that we love. In fact, I saw it completely the opposite. The video started out praising the truck, went into the "tongue-in-cheek" segment, then ended on a high-note by endorsing it. The "tongue-in-cheek" segment was meant to poke fun at "OTHER" folks who might otherwise use the truck's minor faults (cons, flaws, or quirks) to overshadow it's strengths. The best analogy that comes to mind is a Celebrity Roast.
Lastly, the Raptor is not a perfect truck. Pointing out it's pros and cons, no matter how small is the point of a good review. No need for any of us to feel we are being attacked for pointing out the cons. I have 2 cars that cost twice the Raptor (6 figures each - an S-Class Benz and a 7-Series V12 BMW with Stage2 Dinan upgrades). Any self-respecting Benz or BMW owner will admit the cars are less than perfect. Both cars have many quirks that can drive one crazy. My F150 is a Harley Davidson SCrew. I love my SCrew, but I don't try to screw it or make love to it. So I do not take it personally if someone were to point out it's flaws, so long as they do not make it personal. I also have a Chrysler Town & Country minivan. But don't get me started on how one goes from a Benz, to a Screw, to a BMW, to a minivan. That's a long thread of discussions right there.
PS - Like you, I also have a Saturn SC. It is my cheapest car, but before you go ballistic on me, I only say cheapest because I paid $1 for it (inherited it from my dad when he surrendered his license). I love driving it when I have to go downtown and park in tight spaces, where my Benz, Screw, or BMW would otherwise not fit. Not to mention fuel economy. Hey, I can afford expensive cars, but that does not mean I completely ignore the virtues of fuel economy.
