Default Would you buy a VW pickup truck?

And does anybody know the difference in size of an A- segmented size pickup and a B-segmented size pickup. (Sounds like some sort of "Industry standard" sizing?) And if so, what size is the F-150 considered?

Ford made something similar. I saw a Ford explorer looking truck in a parking lot and have never seen one like that before. I asked the guy if he custom made it cutting the roof. He said no they made these for a few years. Maybe they did not catch on.

That was the Explorer Sport Trac, they came out in 2000 and still make them IIRC. I wanted one of those in the worst way when they came out, but I worked for Ford so I couldn't afford it. Go figure.

Not a VW specific response, but I've been toying with the idea of a more fuel efficient SUV with a trailer when required over my truck which I could see the VW and (rumored) Hyundai "trucks" to be. Gas is at $1.30 /liter where I'm at and only climbing. That size of box is basically useless and i think an SUV with a quality cargo mat/liner would be more useable as either (for me) would need a supplementary trailer to haul what I need. So in short... no lol

Would I buy a VW truck? No, I'm a lifelong, loyal Ford man.

No, they stopped making them in about 2010, but I faintly remember they didn't make them for one year in there somewhere. I had two of them; a 2003 (or 2004 - I can't recall exactly), and a 2008. The '03 was ok, but I really liked the '08. They both served me well, and I never experienced any issues with either of them.

Since the VW Amarok in Europe is supposed to be a Ford Ranger and the Transit is supposed to be Part VW you still might get a VW Ranger based truck in the US.
