that seems like a very good payload for. Lariat. You don’t specifically state which trim you have though
LOL, yes I did. Read my sig at the bottom of the post.

2016 F-150 Platinum Screw, 5.5' Bed 3.5 Eco, 4x4, 3.31 ELD, Ruby Red with Brunello Interior, Diamondback SE Tonneau, Husky Mud Flaps, Stampede Painted Bug Shield, T-Rex Polished Aluminum Billet Lower Grill and Barbed Wire Pinstripe.
My payload might be slightly higher than the Platty mentioned in Post #20 because I purposely ordered it without the sunroof.

Everyone else in the world sure likes it when they see it. You also cannot add it later short of swapping tailgates/lot of work. Lot of benefits/no cons for a $300ish option.

Actually, mine has no sunroof, ordered it that way hoping to get more payload, but considering it is RWD the GVWR is 300 less than the 4x4. A plat with the sunroof, 4WD and max tow that I found had 1582 payload, a 5.0 Plat with 36 gallon tank, and tow package had only 1524 payload. I was hoping mine would have been closer to 1600.

Lariats are not that heavy. Plenty of SCREW short bed Lariats with 1600-1800 lbs or so of payload that will tow anything short of needing a HDPP which is not common and not even optioned up XLT's can get it

A 502a, which is less than a $1000 difference from a loaded Platinum is less than 1600 pounds, same as a Platinum. The 500a and light equipped 501a may fall within that range, but not a 502a.

Yeah the 500a and 501a will mostly be in that range, if you option up a 502a to basically be a platinum it might not be 1600+ but it won't be bad and won't suck as a tow vehicle because it 'only' has like 1400 lbs or whatever of payload. Obviously if the buyer has towing capability in mind and can afford this truck they would be wise to opt for max tow, or tow + 3.5 + 3.55, I'm sure they'd be just fine (unless they truly needed an HDPP to make it work but that isn't necessarily a "Lariat" problem since 18 and older Lariats could get HDPP and the vast majority of XLTs don't even have it, and it's about increasing GVWR more than about the truck being lighter)

Not referring to a fully loaded up 502a with power everything and extra everything and moonroof with a diesel here lol

WOW..no disrespect Lariats are as good as any other...been towing for years, it’s bagged but my 3.5 twin snail, soft leather interior pulls the snot outta this home away from home, avg 10 trips a yr. 502A Max Tow

Bagged, Leveled, LARIAT !! Thousands of miles success..

If you rarely go off road or don't get significant snow and ice in winter 4WD is not a must have. Matter of fact you can carry more weight and tow heavier loads without 4WD,.
