Would any of you buy this f 150 lariat

2019. Rwd v8 .... It's loaded but no sun roof. No trailer control,. No step assist in tailgate.

I think most truck buyers would not want this model what do you think

Sounds great. Here in Florida 2wd is more common than 4wd. The panoramic roofs have had lots of issues so many avoid them. The trailer control is a stupid gimmick worthless to anybody who already knows how to back up a trailer and the tailgate step isn't a 'must have' either.

Sunroofs leak, Lariats are so heavy that they don't make good tow vehicles and step assist in the tailgate is a gadget I'd not want. But 4X4 is a "must have" option for me and since I actually tow stuff wouldn't want a Lariat. So no, I wouldn't buy it.

If I was looking, the only thing that I'd be hesitant about it's not 4X4, I need at least one of my trucks to be that. Sun/moon/panavision, what ever, I wouldn't want, the step, rookie backup thingy I don't care about either.

Its identical to my XLT. Does it have 20s? What color is the interior? What other options does it have?

My last truck had a moonroof, don't need one now; I didn't use it as much as I thought I would. Tailgate step isn't a deal breaker.

What does a Lariat's curb weight have to do with towing? What does "so heavy" actually work out numerically?

2 cents worth of my opinion:
Sun/pano roof, forget it
4x4, must have
tailgate step, must have for old arthritis prone codgers
trailer control, its kind of cool but could take it or leave it
36 gal fuel tank, must have

Iggy F-150 05-26-2019 11:38 AM

If you're somewhere warm and relatively dry would you ever have a real need for 4x4? If you just want the look put some spacers up front or a lift kit.
Unless you have a trailer the trailer assist is a waste.
The sunroof? Yea, they're pretty cool, guess it depends on your preference. I don't have one in my Lariat and don't miss it one bit, just a $1200 something to break.
I don't have the tailgate step and definitely wish I had it, but not a deal breaker.

That said, I'd buy it.........only if I lived somewhere warm, I love my '18. Use the lack of it having those options to negotiate your price.

I did in 2015. Bought a 14 Lariat RWD that was a lot queen for a year. It did have the tailgate step which is a must for my old worn knees. When it got wrecked, I bought a 4x4, had so many issues with the front drive system that I never used, I ordered a RWD to replace it. Even though I live in IL and drive in WI daily, I found no use for the 4x4, just a good set of snows is all I ever need. I learned to drive in a RWD station wagon in Chicago snows, and after 36 years, I can still handle snow with RWD and not get stuck. So yeah, if the price is right, I would.

No tailgate step would be a deal killer for me. I love mine.

I have the tailgate step and I never use it. It's more work to pull it out than just jumping onto the tailgate. Even if my knees are bothering me (one football injury, one hockey injury) you can just sit on the tailgate and then stand up, is faster than using the step.

My personal biggest gripe with that truck is the V8 after hearing soo many bad stories.
