Default Worth the cost?

Is it worth putting exhaust on the 4.2 V6?

I put a si/do on my 02 4.2L and it sounds way diff and not ricey at all. And looks good too. It's louder but not extreme best way for me to describe it. Sounds like a v8 before and aftermarket exhaust. It will never sound like a v8 with a aftermarket exhaust. Some say it will sound a bit like a ricer but mine doesn't at all even when accelerating. If I could Rember want muffler I have i would tell u. Srry bout that. But it is possible to have a nice Lil rumble sound from a 4.2L V6.

Thanks for the feed back man, that's all I was looking for, was some rumble, nothing extreme. I defiantly don't want it to sound like a ricer.

I don't think you will like the sound once the RPM's get up there.

Some people may try to discourage you and what not. But I can say for a fact since I have a 4.2 with an exhaust it does not sound ricey at all even when rpm are up there. If my phone could record good sound file I would send one. Mine sounds very good. I believe I is worth it. This is coming from someone who has a 77 Camaro with sidepipes off from the headers no muffler. Now that is very loud lol. My truck sound very good. Idle or running down the road or passing gear. All sounds good. In the end it is ur choice and what u like. Just my .02

I have a 3.7L V6 and I have SIDO Flowmaster Super 10 with duals behind each rear tire. Sounds like a monster. Eventually I'm gonna replace the Super 10 with a Y pipe.
