Won’t start! after replacing plugs it was running ruff while driving
2006 f150 5.4L, started backfiring so I replaced my plugs. That didn’t fix it. Coil packs had already been replaced plus fuel filter too. So with loss of power and bogging down the book was pointing to the throttle body. So I cleaned the TB and it would not start. I cleaned the TB with a TB cleaner reinstalled everything and still no start. Next I sprayed starter fluid in the intake and no go. Was reading about the MAF sensor. I’m not sure I got anything on it or sprayed it. Installed a new TB and still no start. Any ideas where to go from here. Need help. Should the MAF sensor be replaced or is it something else. Help

If it was backfiring... I would suspect a timing problem. What’s the mileage on the motor ?

alot
Put it 226k, my truck has been running great. It would backfire Every now and then. So I changed my plugs. Then it was running ruff and would die, like it wasn’t getting gas. So the I cleaned the Throttle body. Put truck back together, then it wouldn’t start. Wouldn’t even try to kick. So then I used so starter fluid spray in to the TB, still nothing. So o bought a Jew TB. Put it on and nothing . I was told that if the MAF senor (mass air flow) had gotten any starter fluid in it that it should be replaced

Sounds like no spark.. which could be a timing issue.. explains the back firing.

Did you check the fuel part of the equation?

What would cause it not to fire?
My truck would start and run after the plugs were changed, just not right . I tvwould not start after I cleaned the throttlebody so I installed a new one and it still won’t start . Could be a sensor that like the MAF sensor fuel pump sensor an injector sensor to that extent to keep it from starting

Did you remove the throttle body to clean it or cleaned it on the truck ?
