Windshield

2018 f150. Windshield stress cracked at 500 miles. Replaced it at my expense.
8k miles now it has stress cracked again sitting in the driveway.
At what point is ford responsible.

Good luck. BS to come.

I bought a Focus. Sometime in the prep and delivery prep, passenger side of the windshield had scratches like the wipers had developed diamond edges. It's a condition you notice when driving into the sun but otherwise invisible.

Salesman tried to talk me out of a replacement as it wouldn't have the same seal as factory. I've had replacements and I don't know the difference aside from being super clean.

I'm kinda curious why you paid for the 1st replacement at only 500 miles?

I have always just used insurance to replace windshields. Didn't think to talk to dealer.

Stress crack?? Pics??

Not sure how to download pics. No stone chip. Crack starts at top of windshield and runs down 14 inches. Originates at roof line.

No stone chip. Wasn't there two nights ago when truck was parked. Came out yesterday morning and it was cracked

Warranty from the insurance or glass company.
My insurance would have a lifetime warranty on that if it was indeed a stress crack and the glass company that put my Explorer glass in covered it almost 12,000 miles/8 months later since it cracked in the same spot.

I can just about guarantee ford won't warranty it now that it's not original. You done messed up. I had a stress crack on my 14' at 2k on the passanger side then at 8k on the drivers they met. Took it in and they sent pics like 3 times and checked to make sure I wasn't pulling a fast one with a rock chip aND checked numerous times that it was a oem windshield. They warrantied it. Now I'm at 120k and have had a crack for the last 20k from a hard hit offroad but I've been due for a new one with all the pitting.

Ford would have replaced the 1st one, and this one if they had done the 1st. This was likely installed improperly and is not Fords problem now. I'd be calling the company who installed it.
