Default Window Tinting - Ceramic v Carbon

Hello Everyone,

New here and my first post so I apologize if there's already a thread dedicated to window tinting. I just took delivery on my 2023 Lariat and absolutely love it and I am taking it in Thursday to have all of the windows tinted. I was posed with the question from the shop about whether or not I want ceramic or carbon and I was not prepared for that. Essentially the price difference is $200 between the two and I would like to ask is ceramic worth the upcharge? Also, would love to see what everyone has on theirs to get a good idea of what it will look like. My truck is in the agate black color.

Hope everyone has a great rest of their week

I paid extra for my Charger, didn't see a HUGE benefit...so had good tint put on truck, non-ceramic and works fine.

Thanks, Graygoose2021. I've always had the standard carbon tint and never experience any issues. Hard to justify a $200 increase unless there's significant upside to it that I might be missing

typically the heat rejection - most shops have the light box that has each panel with different films applied so you can feel the difference. I have noticed my wife's vehicle stays significantly cooler with ceramic windows + windshield opposed to my truck with just ceramic windows and carbon windshield.

They both block 99+% of UV rays but the ceramic blocks a higher percentage of IR so has more heat reduction. Supposedly ceramic also blocks more glare.

I got the nano ceramic film on mine at 2% on the sides/back & 15% on the front... it can be parked out in the GA sun all day and the temp inside the cab is 85 degrees tops.
it was $550 for everything.
