Default Auto/Tire Shop damaged my "new" SVT Raptor Wheel...

So.. as I posted in another thread. I finally got my wheels and tires installed today. I bought these wheels as pull offs, I had my choice out of 5, so I cherry picked them.

Unfortunately, they needed my truck for about 4 hours, and I wouldn't have a ride back until after they close, so I asked them to lock the keys in my truck and I would pick it up when my wife got home.

As soon as I did a walk around, I spotted the issue. Looks like it was chipped on the balancing machine....

So -- what would you do? What would you ask them to do?

If worse comes to worse, how would you fix it?

Thanks!

What store? When I worked at NTB every associate was authorized to make a situation right up to $3000. They should replace the wheel without question.

It looks like the idiot pried the center cap off with a screw driver instead of popping it out from the back side.

Yeah that's what it looks like to me as well, before the Ford dealer I made my rounds via [Firestone (thieving bastards)] and Goodyear tire stores for about 8 years and have seen similar marks on wheels for the same reason you stated.

This was a local shop... I was trying to support a local business by giving them the chance to shine.

Glad to know that it's fairly obvious to those that work in the business. Just means they have less to stand on in the long run.

Here's hoping they fess up, or at least make it right.

Definitly a screw driver mark. They should replace it . I hope it all works out.

Given that the rims are *new*, there is only 1(one) satisfactory option ...
*new* rim

I got an email back from the shop. They want me to stop by today. Said they would make sure they get it resolved. Not sure what they're going to do yet, but at least they're open to talking.

I know back in the day lots of places claimed no responsibility for customer wheels, which worried me. If they can find a reconditioned wheel from a place that will cut them a deal on returning mine as a core once they have it, I would be happy.

Hell, there's a guy on eBay selling singles shipped right now for under $200, might be a good deal for them. I doubt they want to start searching forums.... LOL

They probably had some snot nosed kid, who couldn't give a **** about a chip, working on your wheels. Surprised the shop didn't try to hide it with some black paint.
Work it out so that you buy it from ebay and give them the bill.
