I had a Ridgeline that was getting up there in mileage, and I wanted something that could tow my wake boat better. I chose the F-150 over the rest because it felt the more polished and well thought out than other trucks.

My first F150 was a '02 Lightning. I went from my cobra to the truck because the wife couldn't drive a stick and they were/are still badass! I now have a '06 f150 Screw because we grew +1... Like many others, I don't NEED a truck. However, on the random circumstance we need to haul something it is nice to have. Also, I am the only one in the family with a truck. They all have cars and SUV's which are GM's haha

Good question....other than Fords are all I have ever owned (save one Honda Civic for gas milage...that was a sad time)

Tradition? While growing up we have always had Ford trucks (cars it didn't seem to matter) and I don't recall ever having problems so I have stuck with Ford.

As I look at other brands of trucks I may like this or that about them but it never seems to be the whole package. Either I like the exterior but not the interior or something else.

Ford just seems to have a better over vehicle for my taste and reliability for me has been above the board. When an issue did arise (95 Windstar 3.8 head gasket blew) Ford bought the van back at blue book and offered me 0% on the purchase of any new Ford.

So for me I bought my F150 from tradition and loyalty...looking now at upgrading...to another F150.

Just like IntegraRC, I had a Ridgeline that had served well and had a lot of miles. Didn't like the look of the new Honda and needed a little more towing power (I pushed the Ridgeline hard a few times with big loads and headwinds). This is my first full size truck since I bought a brand new 1978 GMC half-ton 4x4 to get me through a very harsh winter.
Ford seemed to be the best choice, and I am a very happy camper so far.....

Never owed anything other than a Ford since my first car at 18 (in 1961). Lots of cars/vans and 4 trucks in the mix. But in full disclosure, my uncle was a Ford dealer and in later years so was my brother.

the ford 2015 f-150 is gorgeous and worth it, and for me I am a brand loyal so I will go for ford always.

As for myself, I started driving in a truck ('89 S-10), and after that I went about 10 years before I got another (05 Silverado Work Truck). After getting sick of the fact it didn't have cruise, power windows or locks, and had a dinky V6, I got an 07 Silverado. I was mainly a Chevy guy until that truck. 20k miles the transmission had a gasket rupture between 3rd and 4th gear (unbeknownst to me) and at 40k miles, it had to have the entire transmission replaced because 3rd went out, then damaged the transfer case, which then damaged every other gear. Went out on me on the tail end of a 400 mile trip :|

I then had a Honda Accord to save on gas. Even after the transmission was replaced, the 07 Silverado's MPGs were terrible (I think I was still only averaging around 10/11, and it was their base V8). About year 5 of 6 years of having the Accord, my daughter was born, and for a year it was acceptable in size. But, she is actually EXTREMELY tall for her age (about 93 percentile in height for a 2 year old) and in December I decided to start looking at trucks again. Part of that was also because I missed having the ability to haul stuff since we do a lot on our house the other part having enough room for the little one in back.

Started off looking at the new Ridgeline. I loved the quality of the Accord, and was looking forward to seeing the Ridgeline in person when it came out. We went and looked at one, and the backseat area was smaller than the Accord I had, so that scratched it off the list. I will not go back to Chevy, considering the issue with the 07 and the issues I had with others I had over the years that were GM products. For some reason when I think of Toyota trucks, I think of the issues they used to have where the frame between the bed and cab would rust out and the frame would break in the middle of the truck. Dodge.... I see so few Dodge Rams on the road in our area that it seems to me that there would be a reason, so I didn't even consider them (also don't like the looks of them). Nissan makes great cars, but I'm not adventurous enough to try their trucks out. I went and looked at a Lariat at our closest Ford dealer and really liked it... except it was a bit out of my price range for our current budget. But, with the incentives at the end of the year, I was able to get a good trade for the Accord (and it was paid off so bonus!) and a good price on an XLT Sport 4x4. Daughter has more than ample leg room now. And will forever.... I've sat in the back already and even though I'm 6'2" I was more than comfortable! Sorry that was a bit longwinded LOL
