Why did you buy a Ford?

Why did you guys buy a Ford rather than the competition? I've never owned a domestic vehicle or a truck for that matter so I had no previous experience or loyalty to any brand. I looked at all of them and obviously chose Ford over the rest for the following reasons:

Got a really good deal on the truck
My Dad has a 1996 Mazda B3000 (rebadged Ford Ranger) that is still going strong
Family has had better luck with Ford vehicles over GM. Powertrains of the GMs are strong but the rest of the vehicle seems to fall apart
Noticed that most innovations in trucks are usually introduced by Ford and copied by the others
Liked the Tundra but it seemed old even though it was brand new. And the horrible gas mileage
Ram is nice but it's a Chrysler or Daimler Chrysler or Cerberus Management or FCA. See what I mean.
Nissan...well seeing a 2016+ Titan is still a rare sighting where I live and I'm from the south

What about you?

One's a Turd, one looks like crap and the other rusts away before it is paid for. But seriously, two reasons, best engines for towing, and best safety ratings of all of them.

I've been partial to Ford since I was a teenager, & I'm 70 now. However, lately Ford & I have been cemented together, since my S-I-L works at Dearborn, and I get the family A plan.

I (now regretfully) sold my Avalanche and picked up a '16 Silverado. That drove like crap. I don't trust Ram; Toyota's were too much $ just for crappy MPG and an interior I didn't like; Nissan Titan was never an option. Heard good things about F-150's from co-workers and I liked the body style. Rest is history. I do really like certain styles of the '19 Ram though, and that interior is wicked cool.

Had around $25k to spend but ended up spending more like $30k. I newer truck that looked good and was fully loaded, as well as sporty and had no chrome on it. Oh and a really good engine. I don't like Dodge, but I do like GM. The second gen silverado/sierra trucks are ugly IMO, and have the 5.3 engine which I did not want. So that leaves me with Ford - specifically the FX4 loaded package. Looks badass, has a 5.0 engine in it, and is loaded. Winner winner

LED headlights, largest fuel tank in a 1/2-ton, newer design, lots of interior space, I’d never owned a Ford, and I was really impressed by the Ecoboost motors. Beyond that, I was starting to get the nickname of Dodge Guy at the office....so I figured I better nip that in the bud.

Having a transportation company that we ran E-350's exclusively for 25 years, I couldn't imagine having any other truck than a Ford. Having run millions of miles with so few issues I am indeed brand loyal when it comes to a Pickup truck.

Cars... well, not so loyal.

:) Hi, I have Ford in my blood. I started as a teenager with a 1953 Mercury and had several Fords. My friends all had Chevys with more power and larger engines. I beat them all on the street and on the drag strip. [I was a better driver] I was a mechanic at several dealers. Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, GMC, Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury. I eventually specialized in Ford products. I got into the tool business and my only option was a Chevy chassis commercial van. [this was my one and only Chevy] Long story short, By 42,000 miles the engine blew twice and the trans quit at 25,000 miles. Ford is the only vehicle for me.

I got hooked on Ford in the early 80's when I had a lil red Courier. Then had 2 more Couriers. Then more Rangers. Was always married and also had Ford cars. Mercury Marquis. Escort GT. Taurus. Superduties.
Still have Superduties and F150's.

Got to liking them because they seem to be most reliable of the Big 3.
