The occasional time I have someone else's dog in my truck, they ride in the back with a leash through the rear window to their owner. If it were my own I would either throw the camper on or let ride in passenger seat, depending on size and rowdyness

Two German Shepherds ride in the backseat of my Screw. I got leather with them in mind because it's easy to vacuum up the fur.

Yea... tell that cops round here when they hand you a 280$ fine for the dog in the box, caged or loose

(The last pic was about a month after her surgery which is why part of her front leg--for blood--and all of her back leg is shaved. And since it was a 3-hr roadtrip, I brought along her dog bed for comfort.)
I take it you don't hunt. Or your dog never gets wet. I had one of those seat cover, and they made more mess than without. Maybe put a wet 40kg (80lb) Golden or two in your truck after a day in the swamp or beach.

My truck does have a topper.

RCMP? I know the K9 cops have their dogs in back. I have a full topper, was thinking of putting a 12 volt heater and liner for winter. I would never put my dog just in the bed without one. That is just damn cruel even in the summer.
