I recently sold my 05 FX4, and currently looking for a new/newer one. I've used websites like autotrader to search for trucks. I want to stay in the 13/14/15 year range. Some dealers (usually not a Ford dealership) will list trucks with details like 3.5 engine or V6. How can I tell if it's a 3.5 Eco or 3.5NA??? Was there a year Ford started using these 3.5NA engines? Can I tell by pics or VIN or something? Just trying to eliminate the 3.5NA engines without having to talk to sales staff.

The 15 was the first year for the 3.5 NA, before that back to 11 it was a 3.7.

Yes any 3.5 V6 F150 before 2015 will be the ecoboost.

You can definitely tell by a VIN lookup as the 3.5 Eco is a premium engine and is an added cost.
